SPB's request to fans

Celebrating his 50th year in the industry, legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam is on a concert tour across the US. Yesterday, the singer had posted that he along with other singers including Chithra have received a legal notice from music director Ilaiyaraaja asking them not to sing his compositions without seeking his permission. 

This has forced SPB to revise his concert song list and he has excluded Ilaiyaraaja’s numbers from it. This move of Ilaiyaraaja has come as a shocker to SPB and his fans since they share umpteen numbers of hit songs and a great rapport with each other. The issue has caught the attention of the netizens and SPB has posted, “I request all friends, music lovers and especially all media persons, not to make I.Raja-SPB issue sensational. It is unfortunate. That is all. Show has to go on. Life has to move on. In God’s creation all are good and equal.”
