A fire in AVM studios last week brought the Vijay-Anushka starrer Vettaikaran shoot to a sudden halt. Starting on an elaborate set for a Vijay TV reality show, the flames spread to the seventh floor where a set had been erected for Vettaikaran.

Shooting that had been progressing on schedule was brought to an unexpected stop, but now, a similar set has been erected on floor eight and filming will begin shortly, it is said. Given that the movie is scheduled for a Diwali release, the entire team is working overtime to make sure that happens. But given the Pongal-sentiment that Vijay movies have developed recently, we wonder if the actor is considering waiting till January 2010.
