summon issued to actress Meera Jasmine!

The elusive actress Meera Jasmine has been issued a summons by the CJM court in Kozhikode in "for not honouring her commitment to do a film after taking an advance amount."

Meera had approached the Kerala High Court saying that she should be granted exemption from making a personal appearance in the court, on the summons issued by CJM.
However, the High Court has rejected her appeal and asked her to be present at the court on or before August 8.

Malayalam producer and director KA Devarajan had filed a case against her that she had taken an advance of Rs 5 lakhs from him to do the film Swapnamalika, but failed to honour her commitment.

Meera's argument in the case is that after signing the contract, Devarajan had changed the story and started making the film with another heroine.

Meera was recently seen in Tamil films like Penn Singam and Ilanjian, both written by former chief minister M Karunanidhi.

The Malayalam actress is no longer doing films in her mother tongue and has two films to be released in Tamil, Mambattiyan and Adhinarayana.
